Did you know today is National Hangover Day?? I guess it’s because so many people partied so hard last night and the majority will have hangovers today. 🙂 You may have tried eating a banana or doing whatever it is that health website told you to do to curb a hangover, but that probably didn’t help. Well, essential oils can actually work wonders in curbing the symptoms of a hangover before it gets too severe.
Just a drop of Peppermint Vitality oil to your morning cup of coffee can make you feel better in no time at oil. If you don’t really like the minty taste in your rich coffee, you could try rubbing some lemon essential oil all over your forehead for some immediate relief from headache.
Another great idea is to use a blend of diluted grapefruit and lemon oil and apply it over your stomach (near the liver) and 1-2 drops to the back of the neck. A few drops of these oils could also be added to Epsom salts and added to your bath water, or you could simply choose to inhale it- a few drops in a bowl of hot water can make for a good steam.
Lavender oil is an all-rounder- just add a few drops to your favorite diffuser and doze off. This versatile oil can help you recover from a hangover quickly by energizing you and relieving stress and head pressure.
Fun Fact for the day:
The ball was first dropped at Times Square in New York City January 1, 1908.
The basic idea is to use oils that have light, fresh, and citrusy fragrances to curb a hangover. It is best to stay away from heavier oils that have stronger fragrances such as geranium, vetiver, patchouli, jasmine, ylang ylang, etc.
